I have maybe 100 cook books and I cook out of 6 of them. My mission this year is to cook out of a different one each week...
This week, a book I do actually cook out of, I love the chocolate orange cake, it’s probably my favourite go-to dessert.
What I love about this book is how it’s designed around whole menus for special occasions, everything from Hanukkah to Christmas to a child’s birthday party. It’s almost 20 years old now so a few of the recipes feel a little of it’s era but most of it I would make in an instant. It’s a brilliant book.
I went for Supper for 10 (but for 2!). It was a pine nut and ricotta salad, penne all vodka and a ice creamy dessert (I skipped the dessert)
RESULT - 8/10 The salad was lovely but probably didn’t need a recipe for it, the penne all vodka was BANGING
